William Dale “Bill” Snyder, 71, of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May
20, 2025.

Born on March 24, 1954, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Bill was the beloved son of Dale Snyder
and Lois “Jane” Wallower. He was also lovingly raised by his stepfather, Paul “Bud” Wallower.
Throughout his life, Bill remained deeply connected to his roots in central Pennsylvania.

A devoted husband and father, Bill is survived by his wife, Lynne Snyder; daughters Elisabeth
Rainey and Gwyneth Brothers; sons-in-law Kevin Rainey and Clark Brothers; and grandchildren
Lewis Rainey, Brynlie Brothers, and Mya Brothers. He also leaves behind his brother Bob
Snyder and wife Lisa; sister Paula Wallower-Martz and husband Barry; as well as several
cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherished him dearly.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Paul “Bud” Wallower and Lois “Jane” Wallower; his father
Dale Snyder; stepmother Jane Snyder; and sister Diane Wallower.

Bill had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, history, and sailboats-interests that reflected both
his adventurous spirit and thoughtful nature. Whether riding the open road or exploring the
past through books and documentaries, he found joy in discovery and movement.

A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Bill was a longtime member of the United Methodist
Church in West Fairview, Pennsylvania. In recent years, he also attended River of God church.

A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at River of God Church in Enola, later in
June, with further details to come.

May his memory bring comfort to those who were lucky enough to know him.

  1. With deepest sympathy to Bill’s family from the Central Dauphin High School Alumni Association.

  2. For a long time, growing up, Bill was the “cool dad”, with the motorcycles and the wacky knowledge he harbored in his heart and mind. He is the reason for my interest in motorcycles, my feelings of safety and comfort with guns and probably to someone degree, the reason for my interest in turning a wrench.

I knew he was sick and I couldn’t make myself go say goodbye because time, life, and their odd twists and turns changed so much from so long ago. Blessings to your whole family especially, and all who knew you. It was easy to love you- your boisterous, contagious laughter and your awe and delight in the world. I’ve tried carry on your ability to tell stories about people being idiots with great humor. You deserve Peace and Rest in your own little slice of Heaven, but if there’s any rabble rousing to be had, I hope you say hi.

  3. Bill had a wonderfully bright smile and a loud infectious laugh to accommodate you
at many a gathering. He surely will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to Lynne & the family.

  4. We had much in common; Triumph & BSA motorcycles, Land Rover cars. I remember us walking down a narrow medieval street together in York, England, philosophising on life and motorcycles.
Talking with Bill, you realize intelligence and observation is not learned in some college; you have it in abundance like Bill did or you just don’t.
    Fuck cancer.

  5. I first met Bill in September 1963 and we were best friends for 62 years. We were always there for one another through the years. The world was a better place with my friend in it.

Fàilte na sith. Gabh sith, Bill.
