William Daniel Thomas Jr. (80) went home to be with his family in heaven on October 15, 2020 with his wife Joan (Rhodes) Thomas and his family by his side.
He was born in Forty-Fort, Pennsylvania on May 3, 1940 and was raised in Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents William D. Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Alice (Carey) Thomas Major, and his step-father Raymond Major all from Ashland, Schuylkill County, including several Aunts and Uncles and his brother in law, Reverend Harold Justesen.
He mourned the untimely death of his beautiful grand-daughter Dawn Marie Booth who died January 10, 2017.
He has also been reunited with his best friend and unofficial brother Danny Sturm whose home he purchased for his wife.
He is survived by his two sisters Nancy Justesen, (Rev Harold) of Halstead and Judy Evans (Burt) of Exeter, including his three children JoAnn Marie (Thomas) Booth , (Harold) of Millerstown, Dianne Denise Thomas of Colorado, and son William Daniel Thomas III, (Tina) of Lititz.
He was proud of his 17 Grandchildren and 22 Great-Grandchildren. An additional Great Granddaughter is due in November.
Reverend Justesen performed their marriage ceremony on October 26, 1968, in Carbondale. They would be celebrating 52 years of marriage this month.
He served in the United States Air Force as a Military Policemen in California and Hawaii. Afterwards he served in The PA State Police as well as the FBI. He retired from 3M Health Information Systems after a lengthy illness.
Arrangements are being made by Sullivan Funeral Home of Enola. On October 27, 2020, a military service will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the multitude of medical professionals and friends who gave excellent care to William.
